turbo problems

Background I blew the engine about mid-late June, so I went and got a new motor. While the car was down I decided to switch to a forward y pipe set up, got rid of the hks 40mm wastegate and got a 38mm tial, switched from a .81 turbine to a .58, and went from stock injectors to 450cc.

The problem. Of course the car spools alot faster, but I'm only seeing 1-2 psi on my boost gauge(the only source that I have for a reading). So I check for leaks and the couplers, and havent found any. I made sure the manifold bolts were tightend. Hooked up a home-made boost leak finder, but it broke. The wastegate hasn't opened(still clean). The turbo is a to4e unit from turbonetics.

This would all be fine if it felt like it was up on proper power, I would just determine that my boost guage took a dump, but its not very powerful at all.

Im at 6000+ ft in elevation, but I'm getting my source before the manifold, at the manifold the needle doesn't even move.

Furthermore, when I hook up my rpm source for the emanage it makes the car run like ****, kinda like it has a blown mafs.

Any help would be appreciated.

What size spring is in the wastegate?

Have you tried getting a boost reading from the turbo itself?

#1 buy more hose. You can use cheap rubber hose from autozone/pepboys/etc

This will tell you what your turbo is putting out

#2 is your BOV working properly?

I found some laying around, 6 psi off of turbo. Bov seems to be working properly. I havent checked if it was venting at idle.

Doing a boost leak test is a good idea. You can get a tester for around $30. Then you can check every coupling.
