turbo, clutch, flywheel decisions

ive got a turbo kit in the works and i cant decide on a few things.
-what kinda clutch should i get...i know it should be around a stage II but what brand? i know that brands differ on the severity of its engagement and how much power it will hold...so whatever opinions

-looking to get a lw flywheel too...stillen/fidanza or more money for the unorthodox racing one at 5 lbs? you guys would know better whats worth what

basic info on car and plans...95 maxima se, 5 spd, basically no mods (y/i). building a remote turbo kit with an 06 wrx turbo and intercooler (can get for prolly less than 500 of a friend). gonna run about 6 psi till i know ****s good and get a new ecu and **** and then bump it up after the clutch is broken in fully and **** like that.

Go with the Clutchnet 6 puck clutch. Most of the boosted fellows here have it. Some complain about a little chatter but others dont.

I recall there being some issues with the stillen flywheel on early 95 models. Something about alignment, or not fitting correctly. I had also thought about a lightweight fly when I was boosted, but decided against it as my car is a daily driver and I didn't want to sacrifice too much drivability.

I can't speak for other clutches, but my Exedy stage II is holding just fine. Take it for what it's worth. The best opinion will come from someone who has had more than one clutch and tell what they like and dislike about each one in particular.

I have a Fidanza FW as well. Keep in mind, that with a lightened FW, you have to relearn how to drive (just first gear) if you want to avoid the chatter. I went with Fidanza, because after reading tons of threads on the subject, it was the preferred choice amongst Maxima owners. There was also an awesome group deal, so I couldn't pass it up.

Don't hold me to this, but I believe the UR FW is too light from reading old threads a year ago when I was in the market. Driveabilty is a b!tch!

You're going to put a turbo that is already too small for a 2.0L 4 cylinder on your 3.0L engine?

You're apparently interested in saving money any way possible... with that in mind skip the lightweight flywheel idea. The certainly aren't required and really don't help a whole lot unless you need them for rev matching ability which I doubt.

As for the clutch the get a stage 17 at least. Seriously though, "stages" are just a retarded marketing ploy used by some companies to make their stuff appeal to ricers. Doing research on maxima clutches would tell you what would be good and what wouldn't. Infact doing research on most of this stuff would probably be beneficial to you. Donate and start searching, and there's always google too.

+1 on what neal said. If you install that turbo on your Max your new nickname is gonna be wheezy, because your car is always gonna be outa breath. Save the money on the flywheel and save up for a turbo more suited for your engine. A donation so you can search would also be helpful X1000. Put down the superstreet magazines and start reading here instead.

yes yes i understand that...but its a remote turbo system like the STS kits. also its an 06 wrx which is the 2.5 boxter just like the sti but a smaller turbo....basically im putting the turbo back in place of my muffler and tubing it back up. now i have tried google and all that crap but 95% of the crap i get is rice stuff or like some subtext about a maxima that doesnt help me at all. And you guys all bought this crap and the .org is a place where i feel safe from bull**** because nobody wants to get screwed and no one wants to screw anyone else...for the most part. but whatever information you give me is really helpful because i dont really know specifics with the max when it comes to this i just know the general parts i need

The turbo will be too small regardless of where you mount it.

You need to be looking for at least a T3/T4 50-trim turbo sized turbo (at minimum).

My I/C only cost 100 on ebay. You can do a kit fairly cheap if you look around.

Go with the spec stage 3, for $311 shipped you can't beat it. Handles my car power just fine.....
