I'm in the stage of sorting the wires out in installing my EU.

I'm also currently working on a complete installation write up on this. So far, installation on EU for our cars is found in the manual that comes with the EU. You'd just have to figure out which one of those several options are for your car. If you can't wait, then you'd have to read those instructions in the manual.

If you got 2 weeks, I'd have a complete write up ready for you. Keep searching. Lot's of guys have already put some specifics down already. I'm just gathering everything together and I will be snapping pictures of wiring complications. I also bought customization harnesses and connecting pins. All that will be explained explicitly in my write up.

Hmm I was going to finish a writeup soon now that my car's done for the year. Maybe I don't need to... I didn't know anyone else had started working on one...

On second thought you know what, I already started some of it a long time ago so I'm going to finish it anyway.

I've been waiting on your write-up. Thought you'd never git-r-dun. So I started looking at the manual and searched a bunch of stuff on the org. And consequently, it's not that hard to install. So I decided to do a detailed write-up while I'm installing mine. I got 2 tests coming up next week, so I'll install it after the test.

Dude you shoulda PM'ed me and asked what was taking so long. lol. If I knew people were waiting on it I might have made it more of a priority. I will try and get it done in the next few days. I may actually have some time this weekend to work on it, among other things.

Since I've already gotten started on my write-up, I won't back out on it. We'll both end up with a write up each.

On my setup, I didn't plan on soldering the resistors inside the EU unit. Mine's going to be from input ignition wires T-ed off directly into the ECU ground. So this is probably the only difference. Also, I ordered some customizable adapter hanresses and I'm planning on making those a defaut item to get for all of us who's going to do EU's. I saw your serial plugs you made, nothing wrong with those, but those plugs tend to capacitate smaller current and voltage ratings. My harnesses are like those ATX motherboard plugs: larger wires, better currents, secured wire crimping with wire locks, and click-snap connections (no soldering is needed for this kinda plugs).

Once I get mine done, I'll post my write up too. Having 2 write-ups shouldn't be a problem on the org, I think it's going to give more details about EU in general. But as you are a veteran in this, I may still PM you for help. And I do not think installation is a problem; rather, it's the softwares I'm more concerned about. Lately, I've been talking to Kevlo about it because he's always available on aol aim. It's a faster way to get answers. I just think that this Greddy EU is probably the most powerful N/A mod available for our car, some firm write-up should be up here asap for the benefit of all members.

Thanks, Dandy.

Well the DB/serial connectors are adequate for the electrical loads they will see. But if you prefer to go a different way I will not hold it against you. I used those connectors because I wanted something I could easily disconnect and reconnect dozens of times especially early on when I had the EU in and out of the car many times and changed the wiring a few times too.

As for being on AOL, well I am a busy guy with a full-time job and a lot of other things on the go too so it's true that I am not on there that regularly, but I will always respond to PM's etc as soon as I can. If other knowledgeable members on here can help you sooner then great, that's what the org's for.

Have we gotten the cam sensors to work with the EU officially? I know Dandymax has the latest version of the firmware but I was wondering if they released it officially?

no, the latest, called beta, on modhparts was named version 2.0. it isn't officially released, yet.

However, the cam sensors aren't needed, all we need is run the 1.14 version and hook the wires up like I drawn in the diagram. All we need to hook up as for cam angle wire is to get the crank ref from the ecu. It's a better way the software can do its magic.

Very nice write up !!

Generally I see it easier to go right at it in the car and solder the harness's right to the main harness. I cut the EU Harness down a bit cause I didnt see the need for those long wires. (about 15" off each PIN) I dont like using those crimps that came with the EU, but to each his own.

Another option is open up your emange and wire in the resistors inside the EU to each Ignition and then that entire bundle to a ground. Its elminated alot of clutter in your wires and once you close your EU, its out of the way.

All of the necessary wires from the EU has been defined from the write up. All you need is a pinout diagram from the 00 ecu, and you are good to go. Same write up applies to all 3.0's up in here.

Awesome, I'm looking at the write up right now. I finished my 3.5 swap (thanks to lots of help from org members), so next is the emanage ultimate
I just need to figure out what will be different in my setup, compared to yours, since I'm running the 3.5, and not the 3.0... but I'm using the 3.0 ecu, hmm

DandyMax, when you finish your write up, please post it up as well, I'm looking forward to reading that too.. can't get enough info as far as I'm concerned.. Anyone who's helped me out from the org gets a free ride if they are ever in the DFW metro plex

Mine's a 3.5 also, it's a hybrid between the 03 maxima and a 02 pathfinder. I just dont have to lately to do anything with the cars. School's getting hectic all of a sudden.

My write-up (not quite finished yet due to moving into a new place this weekend) has info for both the A32 and A33 ECU's.

The install is based on the sensor and ECU's not the engine so if you have a 3.5 swap with a 3.0 ECU, most of what applies to the 3.0 install will not change.

Dude... i'm so glad you guys are doing this!!!
I'm picking up another max in about a week and i'm going to be putting in a V2 kit with the V1 plate and a 3.12 pulley.
The car already has a VAFC-II but I think i'm gonna go ahead with the EU.
