No, the turbo timer is to prevent oil coking because of the incredibly hot turbine side of a turbo which an SC doesn't have. Frnakly turbo timers are pretty useless as long as you use synthetic oil which everyone with boost should be doing. I never use mine, I have it set to 10 seconds and I always shut it off immediately unless I happen to have boosted in the last minute or so before getting to my destination... which is never.

10 seconds??? wowsers. I have mine set to 1 minute on my 93 and auto on the 91 and 92. The MKIII Supra's come with a sticker on the door reminding the user to properly let the engine cool down for the sake of the turbo. The owners manual suggest a cool off period of 20 seconds to 1 minute, depending on the driving situation. I figure it can't hurt the car, right? The only downside I see is the waste of gas.

okay, I understand. I had already assumed that the SC didn't make as much heat as the turbo would. In that book you reccommended it didn't say anything about a SC needing anything to prevent the oil coking... I just wondered what peoples thoughts were.

FYI... just bought the wife vortechpower's car. Thing is CLEAN. Fast too. Just waiting for my car to be done. Thanks for your help neal
