5.5 Gen Supercharger

EDIT: Who cares about supercharger...TURBO ALL THE WAY, anyway I know that SFR (Speed Force Racing) makes the 3.5L Altima kit, I called and talked to the owner Tim or Ted can't remember the name and he said the only thing needed to make this kit fit would be an up pipe and a down pipe...now do you think that this would be costly or how hard would it be? Sorry I'm still new into the whole FI world and if I can figure it all out I will buy the kit and modify it and have the first front mount 5.5gen...hehe

I have tried searching for this but with no success. Who has this car, and are there any posts dealing with the 3.5 sc 4th gen?

Here is the link for the supercharged 4th gen 3.5..... http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=504238

Also, about a kit for the maxima...I had talked to the guys at Ripp Mods and they said the kit should be ready this summer, but there is still nothing on their website about it. Give them a call 718-442-4723. Talk to them and they can give you a lot more info.

I just called them and they said that they haven't even started anything on it that they wouldn't start until the end of the summer so it wouldn't be in production for a while. Oh well, but I don't understand why Stillen doesn't make one??

maybe someone can come up with a retro fit for the g35/350z vortech kit and a fabbed plate from Matty. I'm thinking maybe the tuning and settings wont be too different being that its essentially the same motor. ...just a thought...

I been waiting for a Supercharger or Turbo kit for my car every since I bought new in Nov. 01. Spent countless nights searching for one on the net to no avail. Still want one. In the mean time, I straped a bottle to her (which is faster than a supercharger anyway, but tired of refilling). SSR engineering has had a 5.5 Turbo on there site for more than a year, but still not out yet. No info either. I quess that says what kind of company they are.

Do you know SSR Engineering's home page because I cannot find it. A turbo would be even better if they would make one, what I was also thinking is I know they are hesitant about making any kind of FI system because of clearance but I have seen some of the STS Turbo kits that go by the rear wheels, maybe somebody could fabricate a kit like that for the Maxima's???

It would be fairly easy to do yourself with the help of someone who does exhaust work. Talk to streetzlegend.

If you are looking to turbo your car and not spend a ton of money than streetzlegend is the guy to talk to. He did a rear mount turbo for something like $1700. You do not have to worry about building a downpipe or manifold. A good exhaust shop can take care of the piping for you.

I was thinking and the extra torque the 3.5 has would make the rear mount turbo even more effective. If you guys are looking for more information about the rear mount turbo go to ststurbo.com. This is something that would be very easy for someone build.

I think it all goes down to, what turbo size you go with. I am automatic so my large turbo is perfect for ME. I dont get full boost till almost 4,000rpm. but thats only in 1st gear, after that i keep full boost through the rest of the gears.

Seeing as the altima 3.5 and the maxima 3.5 are virtually the same, the only problem i could for see is piping. The altima uses a differently designed front subframe compared to the maxima. That may pose a problem with the piping i really dont know ive never seen the kit.

But you know what, i dont think you'd be installing it anyways, if you bought the kit, take it to a shop and tell them to make it work, but make sure you got deep pockets and that they can do good work.

I think the reason why theres very gew boosted 3.5's is the fact that NA they can be pretty badass compared to the 3.0. I wasnt even close to happy with my fully bolted 3.0, so now im going with boost, and i think that will make me happy. I think id be in the same boat as Maxboost925, just not happy NA so went the boosted route.

When I talked to him I was asking him about his kit fitting the 02-03 Maxima and he said it would fit and the kit would be ready for the 3.5L Maxima in a month or two. I would say wait and order the Maxima kit when it is ready.

I understand all that and people are quick to speak, but don't you think you are missing out on some business by just keeping the news in NY. There are people that would come from everywhere to get the work done, you could get a patent on a kit and they would sell too, if you don't say anything on the org cause there will be people that doubt, you are allowing doubters to keep you in a box. So when is your shop doing a A32 TT? Anywayz, I'm waiting to see vids and pics too.

It'd be awesome if a bolt-on s/c'er kit was offered for the VQ35. I hope Matty hasn't given up on the project.

As for a twin turbo setup on a max we havent done it yet but i know a shop here in ny that will but you have to be serious!!! the only reason why the owner wont do the job is 1) he thinks fwd cars are a waste of time.... and 2) he says maxima owners are cheap............which is true (lol) not all of us but some of us.

ps: we dont work out of a shop we work from home lol..............ahhh home where hobbies turn into masterpiece's.
