SO I've got my wideband but i'm indecisive on the best place to install. I'm currently running a test pipe but planning on having a cat soon, so behind the test pipe isn't an option. My car's running a reverse y-pipe set up and i want to read both both cylinders. I was thinking about welding it to the u bend section of the reverse y-set up. So for you other force fed folks...what do you recommend? On the collector? after the turbo but before the cat?

Since I'm SC I just have a standard cattman y pipe and there is about a 4'' or 5'' section of pipe right after the flex section before the cat that looks like it would work great to have an O2 bung hole welded onto it.
Theoretically, the bung placement should be as far up the pipe as possible so the O2 sensor reaches operating temps. more quickly but I think it should work out fine.

Most manufacturers recommend that you put the sensor a minimum of about 12-18" downstream of the turbine outlet I believe. things are just too hot upstream of the turbo usually - if you put it there you might be replacing the sensors quite often.

ahhh, ok, so when TC you don't even want to put it anywhere on the inlet side of the turbine. Yeah i was figuring it would be rather hot...but with the extra piping length might be okay. Hmmm, so this could be interesting with the oval piping on here. May have to do it a couple inches upstream from the cat which shouldn't be a problem really

So, about a foot and a half from the turbo on the downpipe is the general consensus for the turbo guys, right?

The Auto Meter Instructions say 4''-5'' after turbo on down pipe!

So upon further thought, i think i'm going to actually put the sensor in the bung after the cat for now. I'm praying we get enough people to get the 4th gen 3 inch exhaust made at which point i will then install a catalytic converter. It will take a bit to heat up but the car is garaged and i'm never in much of a rush anyways so no big deal. Might be best since i'm thinking of redoing piping, cross member and all that fun stuff.

yes i know..but i have no cat right now so it's fine. I'm hoping that cattman gets enough orders for a 3inch exhaust..and then i'll put a cat on and move the sensor ahead of the cat
