Interesting V1 Plate Problem..NOT MINE..Read !!!

Well today I started a V1 Supercharger install on a gentlemans car from NY, I wont disclose his name nor the guy he bought this kit off of. He brought me a FULL V1 Supercharger Kit to install. Since Ive had my plate/blower off nearly 10 times, I knew it wouldnt be a problem. I do everything really clean and very a good job.

It was going good today, got the plate/blower mounted to the side of the motor after a few hours or doing the thermostat, drain back, feed line, all that fun stuff. Got the drain back hooked up, plate on, belt on, and about to tighten the belt. I look down into where the tentioner is and the plate is RIGHT up against the tentioner. I mean, not even enough clearance for myself to get the 14mm socket onto the tentioner to tighten it. So after a few minutes of thinking, and trying to get an open ended wrench in there, NOT going to happen, I pulled the blower off and found out that the plate is 1" Wider than the Stillen V1 designed plate. For guys that have installed a Supercharger on their car, they know how tight it is to get to the tensioner socket but this was impossible since the plate was laying right against the tensioner. Very strange.

So bottom line is I have to take the plate and have a chunk cut off before I install this. I have NO Idea how someone had this on there car. Everything lines up perfect, but its just wayyy too wide on the bottom end. Take a Look side by side my Plate !!

Hmmm... So its about 1 1/8'' wide.

Perhaps it was some sort of VERY early Stillen V1 kit that included a revised tensioner that the original owner forgot to include...

Section of the plate was cut off, and the blower installed today without any problems. Went on perfect.

I will have a new thread made once the install is 100% complete. I have another two hours or so of work to do on it
