grey smoke while trying 555cc
Ok I finally got the car to quit slinging raw gas out of down pipe and got my wide band working. My air fuel at the moment is 10.1 to 9.9. Im going to try and lean it out in a minute. BUt it keeps pouring grey smoke out of the down pipe. what could this be. I have not drove the car since trying to put these injectors in so I dont think is a headgasket!
Update Z32 maf
Hey im giving up on getting this car to run without it. I got the 555cc in and im still trying to use the stock maf. Remember I have no o2 due to that crazy rich problem with car a while back. I took the o2 off and let the eu bring it back to 14.7 at idel. with stock dek injectors.
Ok now I put the 555 in and I took 3.2 milly seconds out and it was stilll slinging raw gas out of down pipe and would make a gas puddling under the car. Ok took out 4 milly and it sound a little differant. Then I took out 5 and the motor speeded up and it sound a little cleaner but it lettting grey smoke out the down pipe. Ok well I kep going up taking more and more out hoping for it to get better and I went all the way to taking 12milly seconds out and it just makes it real choppy and still pouring gas smelling grey smoke out. with a air full floaty fastly from 9.8 to 10.5 afr.
SO im going to pull my maf off my z and see what happens. WIll I need to change this in the EU to the z32 maf setting! ANy other ideas on what may help?

You don't have any stock O2 sensors at all?
At idle the ECU should compensate for the huge injectors at least somewhat.
In EMU did you set an injector compensation or anything? Did you tell it you have 555cc injectors in there now?

hmmm grey smoke, some what blueish?!!? Maybe its the turbo? when do you get the smoke? like all the time or when you start it?
I was getting a bit of smoke when i turned on the car, and it was grey. Ended up being an oil problem, the return line would allow for oil to flow back into the turbo when the car was off, so overnight or after a long time of being off the oil would go through the seals so wen u turned it on, smoke. i fixed it by running my scavange pump a couple of minutes after i turn off the car. how is the oil line set up on your turbo?

scale the injectors, do a compression test, and check the oil and water (if there) lines on the turbo. That should cover most of the bases. If you still have the smoke after the engine is not dog rich then you have problems.
What else did you change besides the injectors at the same time when the smoke started?
From my understanding with larger injector differences you don't want to scale through the maps, but by playing with the actual scaling feature. Dandy or someone can correct me. Sorry if I am not using the official GReddy names for everything, but I don't have EMU yet, and I don't play with the program too much.

ok I went in and scaled the injectors today with not much luck. The smoke went away some and at times I got the air fuel to 13.0 but with some smoke still and gas fums in the air still but in my data log it does not show to be making any corrections! It shows the input and output duration to be the same. And the car is no where close to ideling. But in realtime when I make a correction it will rev up after correction though as if it is correcting but it shows to be the same on the data log. If anyone want to look at data log let me know

yeah thats one of the joys of the good ole oovi swap. I had that too I would have to hold the gas for about 10 seconds to get it idel when I had the oovi injectors.
