Electronic Boost Controller for 20 bucks.

There is this thread http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?p=3299562. Basically use a GM boost solenoid to controll the amount of pressure that goes into the wastegate, just like any manual boost controller but its a solenoid. I did exactly as shown on that thread and works amazing! I ordered the solenoid for about 20-25 bucks. I am controlling it based on RPM, i got a 3bar map sensor on its way so that i can tune it better.

So far i get quicker spool up because I leave the wastegate closed below my set full boost (10psi), as it gets close to 10psi i let it open. From a stop brake torquing, I now get at least 1-2psi off the line unlike before that i got 0. this is again because the wastegate is completly closed. from a rolling speed like 20mph, if i brake boost i get 5psi. its amazing. I just gotta fine tune it with the 3bar map sensor. also like the thread says. 100% duty cycle is no signal to WG so max boost, 0% duty cycle is open solenoid so it will boost w/e the WG spring is set at. at crusing speeds and daily driving rpms (below 3k), i have it set to 0 so that i dont over work the solenoid, but at 100% throttle, i have it set to 100% duty cycle from 0rpm to 3500. then put 87% dc after that to redline.

So would the solenoid positive hook up to where one of the additional injectors would hook up to on the emanage?

No its the opposite, injectors work by receiving a ground as signal, the ground is what pulses. So the additional injector wire (in my case there are two for emanage blue), you get one of them and run it to the solenoid, then you provide the solenoid with a constant 12v.

Thanks! I might have to give this a shot... maybe it will work better than my homemade MBC
