what if no dump pipe on the wastegate

Im wondering what would happen If i did not have a flange on the dump tube with no dump tube at all. Just with the wastegate open where you could see the wastegate. Iv been trying one to fit mine but no luck im just wondering if I put the flange and tube on their would it make my spool anybetter. (not tying into the down pipe but just adding a dump pipe for the wastegate)

It would vent into the engine compartment or where ever you have it. I dont see how it would help spool, if its opening without the tube, its going to open with the tube. Just with a tube you direct where the exhaust is going.

Yeah I went ahead and made mine finally. I looked at some data logs and it did seem to help the turbo spool from 3 to 9 psi according to the logs. Im guessing it adds little back pressure on the wastegate it self to help hold it shut. My guess is with it wide open it vents easy and flows right off. Im not sure but just a guess

back pressure? A few feet of mostly straight tubing is not going to have any effect on the WG's valve, let alone make any backpressure that will help or hurt. I would not want the mess it makes w/o any tube and that would be very bad if you had a rich AFR and a spark....

Id lean twords the side that it helps if any thing, flowing gas in a tube will help keep pulling gas out. Just like open manifolds VS a full exhaust on an NA car.

my friends kit is made to blow down right between the motor and the firewall...and we never had a problem in the 2+yrs of 30psi boosting

Mine is just dumping straight down to the floor, i dont think it would affect spool up in anyway how u have it routed. its just loud to some poeple so they route it into their exhaust.

no guys I was saying I did not have a dump pipe at all. No flange just wide open, since I made a flange and alittle pipe to point down but not tying into the down pipe
