VIAS is stuck, can boost cause this?

Well, I ran out of ideas as to why my vias would be stuck. i remove the vias, put it back and its fine. i can push it open and it closes back up when i let go. When i go for a drive and floor it, then come back and manually move the vias again, its stuck! u push it open and stays open. I dont know what can cause this, would boost cause this?

I moved the power rod and it spins freely and smooth.

Did you see if it was bent or anything? Also maybe look into the intake manifold once you take the vias out to see if you got some dirt/build up maybe in there?

Well i removed the vias, but not the rod since mine dosnt come out throught the vias hole. I am going to have to remove the upper VI and inspect. Last time i cleaned it was when i installed it a couple years ago, after that is has gone through ALOT of beating, intaking alot of oil, unfiltered air, more oil lol. So maybe its just needs to be cleaned. For now, I am going to leave it zip tied open, which sucks cuz u feel the loss in power after the car shifts.

I remember way back when some 5th gen guys were complaining about this and it turned out that the heat somehow expand the powervalve and it would hit the manifold when switching open and get stuck..

Well the rod spins freely. Last night i went for a couple runs, i came back and the vias was stuck in the middle. i move it by hand, and it stays where ever i move it too, dosnt fall back to closed position.

Then this morning, I go outside and check it again, and it works fine! I think there is air being trapped somewhere, because when i took out the vias while it beind stuck, i heared an air release sound, and then it worked fine. I cant belive no one has any input on this though.

Perhaps the canister that is built into the VIAS is having problems, maybe the check valve in it has failed. So when it gets positive pressure rather than vacuum, it messes up the canister.

Well you know metal expands when it is heated so it's possible it works fine when the engine is still cold, but once it heats up then problems.

Cant be, the rod is actually plastic (can still expand though), but thats not the problem, the problem is with the VIAS, not the rod. And when i unscrewd the vias, i heared a air release sound, and then the valve moved perfect.

I am goign to make my own device to turn the rod. I am going to be using a door lock actuator, this way i dont depends on the vacuum controlled POS vias. lets see how that goes.

No update yet. I just put back the power rod and called it a day for now. After thinking with the idea of doing the VIAS control similar to grey99's i spoke with him to see how he set his up, although his way is perfect (working for 3 years) I wanna try and do mine differently. ill post update when i actually work on it.
