VQ30DET Manifolds on a 5th gen

I searched and read all the threads people started about the VQ30DET, but there was nothing in there about whether there was enough room to mount the manifolds and turbo?

There isn't enough room to use the cross over pipe, so you'd have to make that piece. Also, the manifolds put the turbo right into the radiator, which may or maynot have to be swapped( the radiator that is ) out for enough room depending on the turbo.

If you're looking for a cheap way, check out the Rear Mount Turbo threads.

Yea, I went out and looked at the car and it looks like you will loose at least the fan on that side of the car, if not the radiator as well. I was checking for a friend and I wanted to make I was giving him correct information.

There's someone here that's put swapped in the DET motor and I "remember" the turbo being within cm's of the fans if not the radiator.

I think it was some dude in NY like nycrew or something...

On that setup he only had one fan and the turbo looked like it was about to touch the radiator. I am just going to stay with the setup I have now.

I still feel that with the rear and front cross over pipe and a custom piece to bridge them and seat the turbo near the battery area is very pheasable.

a lot of heat wrapping and head shields would be needed, but it can be done, and spool up with that type of a setup would be far greater than any setup so far

I know that it is possible to place the turbo near the battery. I was just curious as to whether it would fit where the manifold would put it without modification. I agree with you that the spoolup would be great and that is why I was asking the question originally. I am debating whether to sell the turbo setup I have now in order to pursue this setup.

TrafficBlockin'! As I recall they didn't exactly have the best 1st impression on the .org and haven't since returned.
