THE FIRST??

just thought that i would pave the way properly with an early model maxima and be the first to rock tha setup...

it is my DD but im still working out the exaust routing, more stuff to come.

i know that ppl are gonna ask...its a vg30e in a 2nd gen maxima.

tuning: the 300zx turbo motor ecu soon to be nistuned with 337cc injectors

gonna also see how she runs with 2 300zx t25's instead of 2 large t3s

runs like a byiotch 3K + (havent really seen where it stops dont want anything to go boom.)

exaust 2 inch from each turbo leading to a 2.5 inch all the way out unrestricted thinking of 3 later after i test the t25's

THIS SETUP WILL CHANGE!!!!

Very, very cool. Saw your post in the other TT thread. Couple of questions:

-Why is the intake piping routed the whole way to the other side of the engine bay? Wouldn't that just give it more of a chance to get heat soaked?
-Is this a VG30E or VG30ET?

Also, I suggest wrapping all the exhaust piping in the engine bay

I must say, very nice job on the setup. Very clean and effective.

I agree about the intake piping though, it seems this way you're pulling in a lot of hot air to begin with. It's a lot easier to cool cold air vs hot air. And will prevent a lot of detonation problems.

And +1 on wrapping the exhaust piping. It will keep a ton of heat down! I know from experience...I used to boil my power steering fluid before I wrapped mine

it started out as the vg30et then i threw a rod, forgot to tighten no. 4 piston cap and it flew out. then i had a friend with a w serie motor and was like theyre better than the reg vg30e so i threw it in with the turbo heads and a 200sx manifold. ive tried every vg30e manifold except for the pathy one and i like this one the best.

as i said before the setup will change, im gonna reroute the exaust manifold pipes so thats its 2 pipes that lead into one instead of one leading to another.

as for the intake im gonna run 2 filters and relocate the maf, gonna buy spares because i might need them.

this would have been such a fantastic car if it was RWD(it still is as FWD, but you get the point)... Guess the G is how we wished the max would be.

Nice looking setup man, congrats. As far as the intake, the intercooler really does alot so the pipe running across the engine bay isn't all that different from some maxima turbo setups. Mine runs across the engine bay but the ic takes care of the heat.

Oooh, killer setup man, thats awesome!

Since you obviously have the fab skillz Why not drop the intakes down to sit in the lower grill of the bumper so you'd get some real nice cold air goin to them. 10 degree cooler air is 10 degrees cooler coming out and with all the extra piping you have other than the intake piping theres plenty of opportunity for that air to get hotter.
Also you should think about upgrading the rad since there's gonna be alot more heat in that engine.

It should be an awsome car with the two t25's, I was actually thinking about doing the same to my max but a rear mount with some z32 or r33 twins, but then i got my 240.

yeah im currently looking for a pair for t25's for a GOOD price no luck tho so ill kick it with these until i do, for now im a freeway stomper 2700+ is crazy biut i think that the exaust is limiting me somehow because at 3500 115mph it gets like it maxes out, i dont think its the ecu because i was doing 4500 on a single, like i said tho still working on it, tweaking it out.

You'll need 3" exhaust or bigger for twinz. I guess you left the 2.5" in from the other setup? Do you have a wideband? What do your afrs read in boost at 3500? I'm thinking your injectors might be too small, it says 337cc, I would think you would need 370cc or larger. Just a thought.

been secretly wanting to do mine soon it will be in by 21st of september in a 3rd gen though. Using two .50 A/R Compressor .63 A/R Turbine running around 14psi. Nistune will be here soon. I have a really good condition 85 300zx turbo sitting around with the ECU if interested pm me. From what I can see you are running off the internal wastegates? Was planning of running both of mine of a single external.

UPDATES!!

ok i gots a question.. can i run the o2 sensor on 3 cyls or does it need all 6. i really dont see what the diff would be.

and awwh man the new setup is soo sick makes you wanna drool.

got a hold of 6 rx7 460cc injectors but dont know if theyre high or lows(impedence wise)

and blowing through the mafs what will the oil do to it from the breather or shoiuld i just put a filter on the crank case?

o2 sensor It might work but it was designed to be on all 6 so just do it that way. what you mean on the last question?

Sick setup, Think u should relocate the intake to the left side of the bay to minimize piping and heat! Can't wait to see dyno/video...

already did the relocation

as for the last question the air flow meter can i blow through it. will oil from the crankcase kill it?

Assuming its still a hot-wire type like the 4/5/6gen yes. Same deal with the K&N filter oil. Gotta be careful with the mafs.
