tuning help
Hey everyone I just did a 3.5 swap on my 96max and I had a turbo on it before and I am running the same turbo on this one.. the tune I had was a jwt ecm, z32 maf, 370cc injectors.. now I have mustang 39lb (410cc) injectors, afc neo z32 maf on top of the afc neo.. I am having to add 20%+ correction on there I think I need bigger injectors or do you all think that if I raise my fuel pressure I could off set that? what kind of Fuel pressure is everyone else running.. well any input would be nice thanks everyone..
Few things
#1- (someone jump in on this) but I remember reading years ago that the JWT ECUs somehow are "incompatible" with AFCs, in the sense that some people said that they could not get their corrections on the AFC to work with a JWT ECU, but when they used a stock ECU no problem at all. Someone that remembers this more clearly please jump in
#2- You're asking about raising your fuel pressure. What is your fuel pressure set to right now anyways?
#3- What sort of air/fuels are you seeing? At idle, at WOT, etc...
#4- Your injectors are large enough for most boosted people here
#5- Where are you trying to add fuel at idle or only in boost WOT?
Man you gotta give those important details if you want us to help!

You can probably get with jwt to see if they can reprogram it if possible with the new factors such as the 3.5 and larger injectors. I would only mess with the fuel pressure to get by until you get the proper management for your new set up since the tune was probably only for the 370s.
I am using a stock 1996 max fuel pressure regulator.. and jim wolf dosnt have a tune for what I have.. at idle i am at like 15:1 and under wot I am at like 11ish that is with 20-30% correction on the afc neo it seems to work just fine with the jim wolf ecu also I am using a dynojet wide band can someone explain to me about how to set the throtle point I an not sure how it works.. I read the book but still kinda unclear.. for example.. I set the low at 20% throtle and the hi at 50% does that mean that I start to have corection on low throtle at 20% - 50% and then at 50% -100% it goes to the other map? let me know but like I was saying it seems to work jut fine with the jim wolf ecm. well any help would be nice.
it means that at 20% the NEO STARTS to apply corrections progressively as you go into the throttle. By the time you reach 50% thorttle it will apply the FULL correction percentage you set it to for any particular RPM
I had my JWT ECU and an SAFC, and i had it re-tuned. This was verifyed by the AF numbers before and after the tune.
JWT must do something to cause these things to run lean at idle, i know i was at 15ish at idle, and normally crusing around id bump into the 16 range..kinda scary, i wonder if that had anything to do with my motor pinging..
