Upgrading to 660cc from 370 what brand to look for?
Time to finally upgrade my 3rd gen vg30e. Got my holset HE351 other day. I am in the market for some 660cc or 550cc I thing 550cc would do. Looking to get around upper 300hp. Probably be around 20-25psi. Only brand for a decent price is venom are they any good? Or what is a good brand to get.
Deatschwerks will be the top recommendation here followed by RC Engineering. I have deatchwerks 550s and never had any sort of problem with them. I will actually be replacing them soon if you're interested in a set of used ones.
should of thought to ask what motor. Just wrote deatschwerks about sending in my 370cc to convert to 555cc. Seems easier and probably cheaper to buy set of 550cc.

Tomei & Sard makes great 550's also. Ive heard some negative things about deatschwerks on some other forums.
Im not sure on the impedece differences but I belive sti top feed injectors are 550's. Which can be had for a good price.

Wait why wouldn't the 4th gen injectors work though?

Deatschwerks makes 650 (and much larger) sidefeeds.
Now that I think about it I think Deatschwerks might have a conversion kit to use newer nissan sidefeeds if you have the older style injector. I believe that part way through the 3rd gen production nissan changed injectors from one style to the well known JECS sidefeed (I think this happened in the 1992 model year). A call to Deatschwerks would get you all these answers without relying on my (apparently) failing memory.

The change in 92 was the plug. The 4th gen injectors will drop in all I have to do is get new pig tails. Since I have the square type and not oval type plug. Also used deatchwerks calculator 550cc will be plenty for me.
So this means that the ones in my car would work right? Not even trying to push a sale cause i haven't even pulled the injectors, just curious really.

I'm not sure. I initially thought that they wouldn't because I believe the injectors in my buddy's 91 are different (he ran in to the same problems as the OP did back in the day, could only find Venom injectors which turned out to be utter crap) but maybe the 92+ injectors are the same, I don't know. Deatschwerks would know though.
the only difference is the plug time. Reason they are straight drop in for 92+ is because of the ovaly type plug instead of the square type so just simply go to junk yard and get some pig tails.

I have custom 800cc injectors from Deutschwerks that were only used for about 4000 miles. In the middle of a VQ35 swap and switching to 1000 cc so I don't need them any more. Let me know if you are interested
