Oh boy, don't let Ptatohed see this ol' rule of thumb. He's going to go off and express how he feels that it's confusing and worthless. It's been part of many late night convo's as we work on our cars.

LOL!

Yup. There is no such thing as "leftie loosie rightie tightie"! Why do people say that?!!! It drives me nuts. It's a frickin' circle, not a straight line. Think of a clock - are the clock's hands moving right or left? When the hand is at the 6, it's moving "left". When the hand is at the 12, it's moving "right".

Therefore, even though it doesn't have a cool rhyme to it, CW = Tightie and CCW = Loosie.

Except EVERYONE knows, even since you're a little lad that you ALWAYS start from 12. ALWAYS. LOL. SO take that!

Thats in defense of the kiddie bolt thread direction instruction, lol.

"Left" and "Right" are scalars. Tightening/loosening are vectors.

i thought to pull the pulley off all you need is a pulley removal tool, i rented one from advance auto, and took mine off. was a little stubborn since it was on there for a minute, but it came off. i didnt know about this left, right, clockwise stuff.
