? about Kinetix SSV on a turboed 3.5

Has anyone on here or know someone that put on the Kinetix SSV on a turboed 3.5 max. I dug a little and I found a 350z (supercharged) that gained 79 whp just by changing out to the SSV. Some people on here and other sites, say thats its just junk and don`t waste the money. But I don`t know why people are saying that, maybe its cause there not FI and now seeing very good numbers. I do know it would need tuned but man 79 more horses or hell I would be happy with 40 I`ve learned not to get your hopes up when it comes to car mods.

Well any input fellas.

Def sounds like an interesting amount of hp added.. lolz 79!? haha like u said hell even 40 to the wheels is an insane amount for one different modification. Im just interested in the actual numbers if you do end up getting one!!!

according to the kinetix site we would only see 13WHP at 4K rpm and 14.4whp Peak @ 5800rpm Do you want to spend $750 for that - it's up to you.

You may see more gains from the flywheel upgrade for a little less money. It's up to you.

The website shows n/a gains. F/I is a whole nother ball game.
Im also in for the F/I results. A fellow org member & I were talking about this manifold earlier today. He gave a breif discription of the pros & cons of runner & plenum designs.
This manifold has proven to make more power with nitrous, which is also considered F/I. If I were to get my hands on one for cheap I would def post before & after dyno results. I have confidence in the manifold but it is hard to justify this purchase let alone any more mods to my max.lol

Yea I know what you mean as fas as more mods, but I just can`t let alone the whp gain for just 750.00.

I lost hp on my N/a application. The Upper kinetix port wholes do not match the stock LIM. They designed the manifolds ports based on the LIM of the Z33 which differs from that of the Max/Altima. I have pics, if you would like to see them!

Ok but is what you have the SSV version. Its new and redesigned. Thanks for the info. I know the old version was not very good but not sure about the new one (SSV).

You already have SFR's turbo kit, might as well get their IM as well.

Speedforceracing IM is even more expensive. Does anyone have any real world data on it as opposed to just what SFC says? Thumbs down on the grammatical errors in their listing

Is that a typo on their site? $1,199.99. It probably is, because it just doesnt make sense no matter how much power it can add, and even if money is not an issue to someone, that is still a very poor choice on how to spend it. Actually thats slightly under how much i spent on building my motor lol.

I'm pretty sure it's not a typo. I thought that at first and looked at some other intakes for different makes. Some of the intakes were over 2k. I'm hardpressed to justify that much $$ for an intake.

Yea I talked to Tim from Speedforce. He told me that the Kinetix SSV numbers that I found on the 350z were made up numbers. That no way will you gain 79 whp out of just a mani. swap.

He said that they were putting one of his mani. of last week and going to the dyno to see what numbers he`s putting up. But the car that he putting the mani. on is not turboed. He said that I would expect something like 35-40 whp gain.

I will agree still expensive.

I'm gauging interest into a manifold for my SC 3.5 setup, but i dont think i can justify spending that much on a manifold for a street driven car, but I'm sure interested in finding out some numbers.

Also, to be fair, 1200 from SFR isnt really an outrageous price.. I know on me and my buddy's sfwd civic, we were looking into doing a Wilson's setup, but the $3200 price tag is killer!

Wilson Manifold Quote you on that price ? VQ30 or 35 ?

Wilson manifold is down the block from me... We run them on a few of our cars. Who did you speak too ?

SSIM - too easy
Hey 1swtmax - does your car idle like **** and misfire at idle?
I got your map from Tim but I don't think i'm going to do cams anymore.
Did you upgrade motor mounts yet?

Did this ever happen? I would really like to see a dyno - they do not respond to my Emails when I ask questions about the FWD manifold.

Car idles just fine, and no it does not misfire (well very seldom).

As far as cams, I tell everyone I talk to not to do the cams. Its a waste of money. I didn`t see **** for additional power. The only thing it did is made my check engine light come on.

O yea motor mounts been replaced for some time now. Whole lot better. And no wheel hopping either.

Thanks - "inquiring minds want to know" - the description sounds really good, but does it really work? This might be the ideal IM for my Cosworth build - breathing is super important for those heads....

SSV is junk. It falls on its face after 5500. Plenum spacers and the Cosworth intake manifold are the only ones that make more power and distribute air to all cylinders evenly (on the 350Z anyway).

Really? Here's my dyno from a while back - even considering the dyno operator didn't have the ***** to stretch each run to fuel-cut, the curves don't drop off much.... none of those spacers were required, either..

OH - this is with a SSIM as well - done by an ORG member....

it does peak lower than an SSIM though, similar to a stock 3.5 IM with VIAS. Granted that doesnt matter since theres no stock IM comparison

So did SFR ever do a dyno on the FWD intake ??? Or is this just another fantasy product ?

No dyno, no believe it exists...
