SC with DEK injectors and no FMU
SC with DEK injectors and no FMU
Hey
I bought a supercharger kit that's on it way and was wondering with 11 pounds of boost and no FMU will I be able to run it tuned via Emanage Ultimate?
I currently have the 00vi with DEK injectors which are 290cc if im correct.
Thanks

As long as you have the Emanage for tuning you would not need an FMU no matter what your boost pressure. However, I do not know if the stock injectors are adequate for the power you will be producing at 11psi. You could get away with it if you got some kind of rising rate fuel pressure regulator to bump up fuel pressure.

YEs but you are maxing those things out. Do it right and get bigger ones. And you might want to thing of a 255lph HP fule pump. The stock will NOT make it past 6-7lbs. Believe me.
370cc minimum to 440cc minimum, 550cc maximum.
Run the serious possibility of running lean. Wanna take that chance???

That doesnt mean its ideal.
I agree, personally Id go with the 440's.

That i know.. i've been lurking around for a set of good injectors for a decent price. But until then, my fmu setup will suffice without romping on the pedal too much.
To the OP, if youre going to use an FMU for the time being until you can get bigger injectors to elimate the fmu, get a 8:1 disk and you'll be set.

wow, your running an fmu right?
i ran 5-6 psi on dek injectors and was starting to max them out (9-10afr was 95 -100% DC at 5500rpm), i've added an fmu (6:1) and run 8.5psi now, not sure exactly what the DC of the injectors are now but afr is about 11
plus, the bigger the injectors, the richer the tune you can have, which means the more advanced the timing can be.. which is where you make all your power on a 3.0lt

And yes, when you begin advancing timing you can richen the tune up a bit to avoid detonation but without seeing your power outputs how do you know just where in the powerband to advance timing and by how much to yeild the best gains?
