Whats up org? I have a problem with my set up here

v2
2.87
6:1 fmu

At about 75% throttle it misses really badly in 1st 2nd and 3rd in 4th and 5th its fine. also it misses when I come on the throttle after up shift.
I'm new to the and I dont have a clue so your help would be much

Is your car tuned? Lack of tune or your ignition is breaking up.

whats your a/f and what spark plug gap are you running

speedymax99 09-28-2010 08:43 AM

Did you changed to 2 step colder plugs and run a smaller gap?

No

Don't know and .038

Did you changed to 2 step colder plugs and run a smaller gap?
Yes and made it worse

either get on the dyno, or get a wideband O2 set up. You are just shooting in the dark until you know your a/f

My car ran similar to what you are describing before I tuned it.

OP,

No need for 2 step colder plugs. Get some 1 step colder copper plugs, and gap them at .034

+1 with the statement above

If this does not work I would switch to a 4/1 disk cause it sounds like your running super rich. BTW, please get a WB02

Solicitous 09-28-2010 02:58 PM

So lets get this straight go from step 2 to step 1 since i have them already what about just regaping them to .034??

Solicitous 09-28-2010 03:00 PM

well that could be. it ran fine with the stock injectors till about 5k with stock injectors thats why i swithched

for trouble shooting purposes I would just clean and regap them but when the time comes I would get 1 step colder.

Also someone with a supercharger setup will know better but to me the car sounds like it's soo rich that it's bogging. With a wb02 or dyno you can confirm this but a walbro 255, 370cc and a 6-1 fmu in my mind equals too much fuel.

I would just run 370cc inj, walbro 255, afpr at a 1-1 raise rate and at the least a safc2 and ditch the fmu or switch to a 4-1 disk

the stock injectors were mostly likely maxed out at 5k depending on the fuel psi your running and hp your making.

Thanks guys! The 4:1 did wonders!

speedymax99 10-01-2010 12:56 AM

Do you know base fuel pressure and a/f ratio through the whole rpm range?
But good job setting it up. Should be much faster than before!

You don't really need a fmu with those 370cc unless you are maxing them out.
