JWT ECU question

alright guys, i don't know the best section to put this but i was wondering if anyone has dealt with JWT about flashing the ecus. anyway about 3 weeks ago i talked to someone (can''t remember his name) but he said he could flash my 96 ecu to whatever i wanted for 100 and add the "99" program so i can run it in my car for an extra 50. I spoke with Ben this evening and i told him that i was finally ready to send it out and he swore up and down that they don't do this anymore and i told him that i spoke with someone a few weeks back and they said it would not be a problem. He insisted the only way to get it to work is swap the pins around on the ecu......isn't the security stuff burned into the comp? also does anyone know who i can talk to that would be willing to help me? Ben was one of the most disrespecting person and his customer service sucked. Lemme know what you guys know/think

If i can still add the 99 stuff so it will work in my car i plan on running

I remember reading a few threads awhile back about people using jwt ecu's on 99 models. They all said they had to switch one or two pins

well i don't even think its the pin job that would do anything for it. the ecu i sold u was a 96 ecu originally i believe and they added the security stuff to work in a 99. JWT needs to figure out if they do it or not....when i talked to them previously right before i got another ecu they said they CAN do it and now they CANT??? lol. its been 3 weeks....

ok quick question...until i figure this jwt thing out i need to get a MT ecu. my auto one sucks and anytime i roll into a gear say 2nd for example around 5k rpm it will hit this "fuel cut" thing for a split second and then pull to redline. i can't deal with it and don't wanna hurt the motor. i think its because the computer is trying to tell it to shift and it can't being that its 5spd swapped. Will any 99 maxima computer MT work? i was looking on car-part and found a few but wanna make sure i won't get the dreaded crank but no start if i buy one because of the security stuff....

I think any 99 ecu could work. At least the 96 jwt ecu you sold me worked on my car and on a buddy's car too. When my engine bleew last august, I said to him: " Take it, have fun till I need it back."

About your fuel cut at 5k, I'm not shure it is because you have an ecu for an automatic. I've helped VQ'ed 3 times for tranny swap's and never we have encounter this problem.

I'm going to email Ben Pila, cuz I want my ecu to be reflashed for 7psi, 7000 rpm, Z32 maf, 410cc's and 94oct. When I'll need more boost, I'll tune with an AEM FIC. At the same time, I'll ask him about your problem...
