Product review.. Meguiars Gold class instant wheel cleaner.. My BUTT

Thiks product did not work worth a flip. I have better results using simple green. ANd it is not $5 a bottle.

The only reason I bought it , was a friend swore by it. Well he get kicked in the shin for this.

If you use it and have results tell me how you did it. I tired everything. Including reading and following the directions

This time no nick...normally yes..lol

I just washed my car last week so there was not alot of brake dust. I could get most of it with just water and my finger

I even let it sit on the wheels for almost 2 minutes

deezo i will try that...but be warned.. if it don't work I am gonna kick you in the shin

I'm not worried. If you use a brush, even better.

I wouldn't use Simple Green at full concentration if I was you. Eventually, if you use it too much, let it sit for too long, or use it in direct sunlight, it will dry up onto the wheel or etch the surface and cause an mark similar to ones caused by acid rain. It's really strong stuff and should only be used in your wheels are CAKED on with brake dust or tar (I personally still wouldn't use it though)

Some good wheel cleaners I know of are P21S (made in Germany, used for BMW wheels), Eimann Fabrik High Intensity diluted, Griot's, and I've also heard EO (Eagle One) A2Z gives good results.

I will look at some of those you suggested.. but for like $3 I can get a 24 oz bottle of simple green and mix it half and half and it lasts a very long time.

I understand what you are saying. I am slightly cautious when I do use it..direct sunlight is my fear

I appreciate that you're taking my advice.

Simple Green is great for heavy duty jobs, but for pieces of art such as wheels, you want to use something gentle. Good luck

A2Z works for me!

Rain Dance has a wheel protector spray, you use it after you wash and dry the wheels. Has any one tried this stuff?

I use power clean, and avoid direct sun or letting it sit long.

Are you referring to the Rain X Wheel Protectant (stuff for rims)? If so, I've been using it for a little while. My rims stay cleaner longer. And it does seem to make it easier to clean my rims, but keep in mind that I never let them get too dirty. It also gives them a nice, "just waxed" look ('97 SE stock 16's). All in all, I'm happy with it and will keep using it (about the same results as waxing my rims with much less time and effort. Just spray on, let dry). I do not know how it will work on chrome or aftermarket rims.
