tire size?

tire size?
I bought some 17's and I am not sure what size tires I should get. Can anyone recommend a tire that will not rub.
The rims are ADR Demonya 17" x 7.0", Bolt Pattern : 5 x 100 & 5 x 4.5 (114.3)
The box I got the tires in say the offset is 40 but the place I bought it from says they are 42+
Any help would be great.
