How do I know when to get my tires balanced?

I am not really sure what unbalanced tires feel like. I am finding it hard to tell because most of the roads I drive on are farely grooved.

Does anyone have any sugestions on how I could tell.

Thanks

Look for uneven wear patterns on your tire. Generally, patches of wear indicate the tire and wheels are out of balance. Also, the ride should be rough at higher speeds (40 MPH and up). Lastly, if you can ever see your car's reflection while driving, that might help. An out of balance wheel will be juttering up and down.
