Wheel locks.. which are the best?
Don't worry about 4-5 sets, just get 2 sets of REALLY good ones like McGard.
McGard ones have an infinite amount of patterns, and are probably some of the best wheel locks out there.
I have $2000 rims and I'm paranoid, trust me.

thanks man,
Yea, i figure i'd be fine with 2 sets. Theives will get around wheel locks as well, but they'll slow them down a bit.
Word of advice for others,
do not buy wheel locks from discount tire direct. I would expect the lock combo to be different from set to set, but at a maxima meet about 2 years ago, a THREE fellow members discovered their wheel locks had the same key and were interchangable. All 3 were purchased from discounttiredirect.com
In all honesty. If someone wants your car or rims thye will take them. IT's just a matter of time. I don't believe it will make any difference gorilla or McGard. I pick McGard because the outer piece is round. The best ones are where the outer part will actually rotate, is independent of the actual nut.

What brand are they?
thanks
Gorrilla or McGard, take your pic. I said screw gorilla cuz they don't have black splines. I paid $93 shipped for 16 black splines, 4 black locks, 4 chrome nipples, and 2 socket adaptors.
Stay away from 7sided lugs/locks, like Kyokogens.

gorilla.
for that matter, if a real thief wants your whole go*da*m car they got it.
IMO, if a petty thief can't take what they want in under 3 minutes, they ain't gonna bother. make it real hard for the motherfu*kers. buy 4 sets. each lug different. pain in the a for you, pain in the a for them. you keep the wheels.

about the 7 sided ones (kyokogen), I've read from various boards that they'll "round" easily. It's like, try using a socket on a 6 sided nut, then 7, then 8, and soon enuf, with enuf sides, you got a circle w/nothing to grip.
I also read that kyokogen black finish mars easily. But then again, nothing should touch the nuts except the "key" and you shouldn't be using power tools on lug nuts anyways.
If you want black, you can also buy gorilla splines for $30, then powdercoat them for $30.

So does anyone know anything else about the turning locks with an independent outer edge?
I heard wheel locks similar to these were put onto 1987 Porsche 944 Turbos..
i'm curious whether or not these are still being manufactured though?
thanks

I know they have a similar design for those as well.. someone help me out, if these locks still exist
What type of lug nuts do (2002) Maxima's use? I cant find whether its round or conical (tapered)? I would appreciate it if someone could tell me, as I need to buy locking lug nuts. The store told me they had 2 different kinds of 12mm/1.25 (round, conical). Which is it?
Also, which McGard wheel locks do we use? Cone?
Thanks.
