Largest Rims for a Daily Driver?

Whats the largest you all would recommend going on a car that I want to keep daily driveable? I am only looking to upgrade for looks, so I am not concerned about performance losses. The only concern is how streetable larger rims are. The roads arent horrible, but they aren't great where I live. I do drive into DC on occasion and the roads there are AWFUL. I want to do 19's, but I dont know if that will leave me with enough rubber to still get a decent quality ride and such? Should I stick to 18's, or can I go to 19's? I used the search, and some people were saying dont go larger than 18's for a daily driver. Just thought I'd throw the question out there again.

thanks,
Drew

i'd say 18 or lower. I have 19 moda R6s and sometimes it feels like they are gonna pop but never do. Plus the bigger the rim you have the more responsible you have to be about crub checking. I checked a crub once and now my wheel looks funny close up. But i don't regret 19' they look awesome

If you drive into DC any more than once a year I'd say that even 18"s would be risky... I was pretty worried on my 17"s in DC, but I made it out ok.

I'm on 18s now and I'm in New York City. Roads here are bad. I've only had them on a few days but as far as ride quality goes, it isn't as poor as I expected. Car is definately slower though. If you are careful and try to avoid the really bad pot holes that you wouldn't want to ride over even on 15" wheels, I think you should be fine with 18".
