No! The pressure on the tire sidewall is the tire's MAXIMUM cold pressure. Do not exceed this pressure. The tire would ride pretty hard this way anyway.
I'm not sure what kinds of pressures you should be running on larger tires... try asking a tire shop or the place you bought the tires from for advice. There are charts and guidelines available for determining how much additional pressure you're supposed to run, but they're related to load capacity, not handling, but they might be a good place to start for lack of anything else. Good luck.
EDIT: I just realized that you have a 4th Gen and are still using 16" tires. In this case you might be able to just run them at stock pressure (whatever that is for 4th Gens) since I don't think simply going wider changes much. I could be wrong though, so check into it.

I have a '99 se and the pressure readings are in the center compartment between the seats under the lid.
I think they recommend 32 front and 29 rear.
I feel that's way to low.
I have 225/55/16's and run about 34psi front and 32psi back. Sometimes a bit more if it's a long highway drive or a little less if it's a nice drive on back roads.
good luck,
Tom
