Tires

I'm considering new rims for my '02 SE. Factory size is 17 x 7.0/5 x 4.5 while the rims i like are 17 x 7.5/5 x 4.5. What are my options for tire size. I don't want the stock Bridgestone 'cause they S*CK! I'm not a speed demon. I'm more interested in getting high milage and good traction in the rain and snow. What are my size options for the 17 x 7.5 rims and what will be the effect of changing from the factory size?

Thanks,

Bob

with 7.5" rims (the way I went for more width) you should go 245/45/17....good traction, better handling, nice tire selection....

I also went Falken Ziex 512's which are all season, but because my rims are chrome and too expensive to mess with, i bought 16" rims and snow tires for winter

I'm going to throw something out and I'l probably get my *** burned from the flames, but here goes. I have a 17x7.5 rim on my Max with stock tires (22k+ miles). I haven't experienced the problems that others have experienced. People think I'm crazy. Could it be that a wider rim could change the characteristics of the tire? Just wondering.
