What is maximum size for wheels/tires in 4th gen Maximas/I30s before rubbing occurs?
What is the maximum wheel and tire size that anyone has used on 4th gen. Maxima without having the tires rub against the wheelwell what so ever (including during sharp turns and big bumps)?
Please specify diameter and width of the wheels as well as width/sidewall measurements for the tires.
Also, does anyone know if the wheelwell measurements for 4th gen. Maxima's are the same for their Infiniti I30 counterparts?
thanks!

Thanks for your reply. So, even when you turn the steering wheel all the way both ways you don't get any rubbing?
I'm thinking about buying a set of rims for my 97 Infiniti I30t and a mechanic at Hub Cap Annie's said that 16" wheels with a comparable tire size to the stocks are the maximum. The I30t comes with 15" BBS stock wheels.
Anyone else with any advice or comments on putting larger rims and tires on 97 Maximas/I30's would be greatly appreciated.

I only added 1.2" to the overall diameter of my tire/wheel combo, but if they rub it is not evident by tire wear or marks on the inner fender well. I think it maxes out before then. I turn all the way fine(u-turns and all). I never checked for that when I put them on because I was only adding an inch to what was already on the car factory. I was more worried about clearing the lower spring cup.
I was told mine wouldn't fit, too. The place I ordered them from told me I was crazy and I'd have to do all kinds of mods to get them to fit.(They even faxed me a form for me to sign and fax back that said they told me they wouldn't fit.) I just said send 'em and I'll get 'em on there. There is no sure thing with customizing, and anything not oem is customized so a lot of tire shops that deal mostly in oem applications don't know what will fit.(Especially with Maximas) You just have to do what you can to get the info you need to come up with your best judgement. (I.e. my sig.) Pm or email me and I'll help you as best I can.
