Wheel fitment: 18X9, 18X8.5, and 18X9.5
Wheel fitment: 18X9, 18X8.5, and 18X9.5
Hello guys,
Which one of this combo will fit into 4th gen?
F: 18X8.5, +40mm (no problem)
R: 18X9.5, +43mm (?????)
Or
F&R: 18X9, +35mm (?????)
For tires, I would imagine something in the line of 245/40/18. I think 255, or even 265 tires will fit in the rear. I know some people are using 18X9.5 in the rear with +38 mm offset, but about +43?
Anybody using 255 tires in the front? Opinions?

jay23,
Thanks for your reply. I just came back from the garage (looking at the wheel well plus suspension clearance), I could see that the 18X9 with 35mm offset is either going to rub 1.) the fender, or 2.) the back side of wheel well when you turn left or right, or 3.) touching your shock's spring mount.
Looking at the back, we do have enough room for a 9 inch wide, but it might rub the wheel fender with 9.5. Seems to me we have more room in the "inside", so just like you said, +43 would be preferable rather than 35mm for the 9.5 wide rim.
Comparing 18X9 +35 and 18X9.5 +43, the 9.5 will stick out more, albeit only about 4 mm or so (my calculation).
The issue is now with the front.....but I was thinking that it highly depends on the wheel size as well. Fitting 245s in front would rub with 18X9 wheel, but if I fit 235s.....?
What do you think?

jay23,
Yes, that would be a ideal setup. 18X8.5 with 37mm, +or minus 3mm would be the "perfect" fit to fill that wheel well.
The rear for me would be 18X9.5 with 40/43mm offset.
Gosh, surprisingly...these are the most recommended offsets for Supra (latest model) both F/R.
About your Volks...(nice wheels and please show the car with the wheels after you get them if it's not too much problem)......those wide 10.5 only go to the rear, right?
