Fitment Concerns with 245/40's with 18X8's

I've purchased the following equipment but won't install until spring'04 for my 2001 Maxima-SE

-18x8 rims - Fondmetal 9X's powercoating Black with Shinny Lip
-5x114.3 bolt pattern
-38mm offset
-245/40/18 tires - Sumitomo HTZ-II's

Need to know if I will run into problems running this kind of wheel/tire combo on my car, like rubbing against the fenders, strut housings or wheel balancing, alignment, adding spacers etc.) Any help will be appreciated. I basically just want to bolt them on an get a high speed balance and alignment, but I need to consult the pro's on this sight just in case other issues come to play.

*NOTE: I do plan on lowering the Car with this combo but need to know also with 40 series tires how low, an what spring and shock combo would be sufficient. Not looking to make car extreme, but to look nice with minimal wheel gap space taken up.

ThanXXXXXX!

Good fit with 18x8 and +38 offset. Lots of people with a very similar combination. Heck, mine's even bigger with no rubbing.

Hey! Thanx Limsandy and Mike (Kwd2kSE) for the info.
I'm actually going to take 1 rim and 1 tire an have them mounted so I can do a fitment this weekend on the car to see how they will look.

I have 245/40/18's on 18x8 with a 35mm offset. No problems at all on rubbing

Would a 245/40/19 fit without rubbing with a 38-40mm wheel? I know a lot of people use a 35 series, but not sure about 40 series.

Oh, thats with a 19x8 rim.

They'll fit just fine..... but how much lowered are you? Why would you want to use 245/40 ? Your speedo would be off like about 3-4%.

Thanks for the help.
I have ground controls so I guess I dont really have to worry about that. The reason why I chose 40 series tires was b/c 35 seemed too skinny and I didnt want the ride to get even worse than it already is. I've never gone lower than a 50 series tires so I have no idea what to expect.

btw, sorry code•maxx for going a little off topic.
