Please excuse my ignorance to this matter, but I am newbie when it comes to aftermarket rims. Recently I just purchased a set of Exel Ennio 18x8 for my 2000 SE from www.wheelmax.com. After talking with my sales rep, I know I need a set of hubcentric rings for these rims. So found a set on www.justforwheels.com. They are made from plastic and costs $34.95. My questions are:

1) Are all hubcentric rings made from plastic? Are there any metal ones?

2) Is there another place where I could purchase these rings from? I did searches on the internet and all lead to www.justforwheels.com.

3) What is the typical price on these rings?

When you buy new wheels, they should already come with the hubcentric rings. If they did not, call wheelmax and tell them they are missing. There are some metal ones out there, but by far the majority are plastic, just some better than others. Even my Volks have plastic rings, though about 1000% better than the ones on my Konigs.

One of the rings on the Konigs was lost, got a replacement set from Discount Tire for $25 I believe.

 

same here. its aroudn $20 and they are plastic.... works fine. all they really do is set your wheels center on the hub before your put the lug nuts on.

 

I called Wheelmax and they said that if I need hubcentric rings for the rims, they said I need to purchase them myself. That sucks, but anyways, my rims came in and I looks at the box. There is a number that says, "HUB = 73.1mm." I assume that's the size of the hub on the rims, but what would be the size of my Maxima's hub. I want to be able to order the correct hubcentric rings for my car. Note, I have a year 2000SE. Boy, I feel so stupid, but thank you to anyone who response.

 

You need 68mm rings. They might list them as 68.1mm which is still OK.

 

I thought ALL Maximas had 66.1mm hub bore? I know that's the bore on my car, but did they change it to be bigger for the 5th Gens?

Omegasrk you can probably just go to a local wheel/tire shop and they might have a drawer full of rings that you can buy - you don't have to order them online. I think most aftermarket wheels have standard bore sizes.

 

Sorry for the bad info. You do need 66.1mm I.D. rings. I was reading the chart for the center bore on rotors. Thanks for correcting me. Oh, pulled the 66.1 right off the bag my Konig hub rings are in.

 

Thx kwd2kse and Bman for your quick respones to a newbie. So I'll try to look for these hubcentric rings at a local rim shop near me and see what they have. I can't wait until I slapped these bad boys on my car.

 

Hey guys, on 1010tires.com, I found the following hubcentric rings for my rims for $19.99. Note, my rim bore size is 73.1mm.

I.D. 66.08mm
O.D. 73mm

Each dimension is off by just a tiny bit. That shouldn't matter right? Thank you to all again.
