20" Rims need help
I am looking at getting a set of 20" Lusso Fosse Rims. I have a 04 max SL! Can anyone tell me what type I am going to need (boltpattern/offset)? Thanks in advance! I also have the CAI and the stereo done along with the grill and window tint. This is the last piece to my puzzle.

Bolt pattern is 5x114.3. Make sure the rims are for FWD (front wheel drive) cars. If you can, go with 255/35/20 tires. They have more of a square look to them. They also help reduce the wheel well gap. 245/35/20 tires have a rounder appearance to them, as they are slightly narrower. This is my opinion, you may want a rounder profile.

Word of Caution
I put custom chrome rims and new Michelins on my 04 SL and tinted the windows medium. Looks great just wish people would stop druelling on it![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Word of caution however, make sure you keep the original rims they cost over $550. per rim to replace, dummy me traded mine in for $150. per rim not knowing better. Nissan will alighn your car and cut your rotors if you need it up to 36K miles, however when you have custom rims they DO NOT want to touch the car, stating that the warranty was voided. I went to another dealership however and they were happy to align my car, but they too talked to me about the rims before doing it. If I could do it over I would consider the Nissan chrome rims that are being sold as an accessory for the Altima, I believe they are 18" with a matching lug pattern, they look sharp and would keep the car somewhat stock. Good Luck.

I put 20's on my '04 Max and I went with 245/35/20's and the Eibach kit, check it out: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/464988
The rear wells are tight, meaning they look good and no rubbing worries. The front still has a bit of a gap after lowering but it has settled a bit since these photos were taken.
Hope this helps....

Dude, who told you your OEM wheels are worth $550 EACH? And if you did your little homework, you'll discover that dealers can't void your warranty if you put on aftermarket wheels.

The maxima tranny is not rated to hold those 20s, is going to cause major wear on the tranny and clutches. Be prepared to replace that soon.
Also if you are putting 20s, you gotta put a big brake kit to slow down the car from the added wheel weight, the stock caliper and brakes are not going to cut it at all.

As for the brakes, same thing everybody I talked to said replacing the brakes is slated more for putting big wheels on SUV's because they are so much heavier.
Any other input???
