I am dead serious. I would like to put yellow rims on my black max. Yellow rims and yellow graphics. Every other person may hate it but it is my car and I will do what I want to my car.

 

Whenever I get some extra cash, i'm going to paint my max (or whatever car I have then) platinum and put blue rims on it. To each his own.

I'm going to paint my Maxima pink and get the sunflower rims they make for the New Bug and paint them so that it looks like a rainbow when my car is moving.

 

I think you have to get a shop to powder coat them. I think around here it would run $25 a wheel.Theres a Blue max around here w/ yellow rims. It dosent look that bad either. Plus Its nice to see someone w/ ***** to do something out of the norm instead of jumping on a bandwagon.........

It think this would be the only way... paint would prob chip and look bad. Plus Powder coat would looks better. My boss had this done to a set of rims for his 65 chevy truck (blue not yellow), he said similar prices maybe a little cheaper.

 

The reason for that is every civic I have raced I killed and I do have a supercharged civic but it can not hang with my max. The rims will not get painted so I say to hell with yellow rims on my max for now. Later with that project!!!!!!!

why is it gay to do not be a mindless sheep and do whatver everyone else here does. Just cause you don't like it for your car doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. Maybe its your taste that needs to be checked. You remind me of that beer comercial where all the bandwagon sheep people fell like dominoes cause they didn't have the brain power to get out the damn way. Or maybe you're just scared people would dis you for doing something diff. Either way, you do your thing and let other's do theirs.

 

There's a difference between not conforming to the 'flock' and doing something that is just tasteless and stupid. IMHO, he crossed that line with yellow rims on a car. If you disagree, well then, I'll make sure never to take fashion advice from you.

Well, that's the key right there. Before you spend money on it, why not take some good pictures of your Max, and use a Photo Editor to try it out?

I personally go for the Q-ship style (I wonder if anyone knows what that is?) so I would not care for it personally. It would turn heads, but if getting compliments is important to you, I would not expect to get too many. I would expect that some would love it, more would hate it, and few would be neutral.

 

Agreed. Yellow rims are beyond the "conforming to the flock" argument.

 

They certainly aren't to my taste. I might consider white on mine (had a white Dodge Grand Caravan SE that had white wheels, and it looked pretty good for a minivan. Paint scheme helped ... upper part around windows was black to blend in with the privacy glass)

naw, i wouldn't do yellow, to bright. I do want blue rims on a silver max though. Never seen that before and I think it would look great. Also considered black, but thats been done already.

 

Did you ever stop to think that the reason you have "never seen that before" is because it will look HORRIBLE??!?!!

ie: I am going to smear dog **** all over the body of my car because I have never seen it done before.

Not because you or the other simple minded people in this forum told me to.
