To those with 19" wheels

Do they get bent easy? I have a few pothole around here just wondering how easy is it to bend a rim with 19s. also would a 225/40/19 fit or will have have to get 215/35/19. thanks for the help

I believe it has more to do with tire sidewall height than diameter of the rim - the more sidewall that's there to absorb bumbs/potholes/etc, the less impact is placed on the rim itself. As far as tire sizes and such, I have no idea - you might get better responces in the Wheels/Tires forum...

you will bend 19's very easy if you have crappy streets. No matter how wide the tire is the sidewall wont be bigger than a 40 series if that and 35's are basically rubber bands

Carnal_C30 is using Blitz 19" wheels, and while they are forged, he has bent 2 of them. He was using 235/35, and hasn't bent any more since switching to 245/35.

Going from 235 to 245 will increase sidewall a bit but the bottomline is what roads is he driving on

if the roads are bumpy/holy it dont matter what you have

Quote me where I said that. You cant, so stfu!

How the **** did you know my Tein springs had little scratches? In any rate, you're just as :007 as Igor.

Dude, why don't you just figure out how a FSTB can help torque steer and then come back to argue with me you little

I had 205/40/17 rims on my civic for few years. I used to hit pot holes and bumps left and right. Haven't bent a single rim. I had Enkei rims w/ Nitto tires. If you get good rims and good tires, you should be ok.

245/35/zr19 should be fine. i have hit big potholes where i 100% bent a rim but it turned out not bending at all. also nitto 555 for some reason are good strong tires. i use them on my 18", 19" and 20" rims and they are all good.

and kids, stop making fun of each other/ this forum is a learning experience.

I have been very lucky so far. PA has horrible roads but my wheels have held up just fine. I'm running 235/35/19 tires but I really wish I would have went with 245s.
