questions about moving from 17" to 18" Rims

Hey folks,

Ok I'd like input from those members that may have moved up from 17s to 18s. I'm looking for all things that may have been affected, including your wallet with regards to tire size.

Also does anyone run 18s in the winter? oh...and the CALI/fair weather orgers..don't coun't or do you have another set of rims/tires for the winter.

I'm considering getting a set of 16s for the winter with the 18s for the summer...as long as they clear the brakes.

thanx

I"m always thinking of getting 18s to replace my 17s. But 18s would be a tad to heavy. After thinking about it, i'm happy w/ my 17s. not as big as 18s but they still look good.

I'd just say: Keep your 17" for winter (you already have it and winter tire are good for a minimum of 4 years!!)

Buy 18" or 19" for summer!!!!

I upgraded from the OEM 17x7 225/50 to 18x8 SSR GT1s with S0-3 245/40....

The unpsrung weight was affected.....in a good way. Even with the bigger rims and tires I lost 1 pound at each corner. My wallet lost some weight too...... about $2600 but well worth it.
