Kosei K-1 ST

I'm looking to buy some new rims for my 2000 Maxmia SE. I have the 17"s on my car right now. I went to Tirerack.com and I found the Kosei k-1 ST 17x7 for $200 they are supposed to only weigh 14.1 pounds. This is a very low weight for the price. So I was wondering if anyone else had ever use/heard of Kosei? This was the first time I had heard of them. Well any feedback would be appreicated. Thanks.

First of all, I wish to apologize for posting in the wrong forum. That was rather crass of me, I normally have good forum manners. My apologizes. Thanks for the replies. I had was afraid that the cost/weight seemed too good to be true. Any other experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I'm assuming you mean K-1 TS, as there is no K-1 ST that I am aware of or can find on tirerack's site.

Kosei makes high quality wheels that are exceptionally light. The regular Kosei K1 (now discontinued) is probably the most popular affordable, lightweight wheel on the planet. Until 2002, most of the cars, probably 60%, in the Speedvision World Challenge series used Kosei K1s because they were light, strong, and affordable. These teams include the series winning and series dominating cars from RealTime racing and Turner Motorsports.

I used to have kosei K1s and was happy with them in every way. I can't imagine the K1 TS being any different.

I've been running the 16" K1's for autox for 2yrs now and have nothing but good things from them. We've got maybe a few dozen drivers using them around our area.

I just hope zipper's not getting the orange ones
