43mm...

I was gona buy some imperio 5zigen wheels (18s) but didnt know if 43mm offset would look good on a 4th gen...

i know this is the wrong place to post but no one is responding to my other post in the wheel section...its a quite simple question i know most of you could answer...

im not really wondering if it will fit but, more if it will line up with the fender nicely or if it will go in the wheel well too much...

Offset doesn't tell us anything without knowing the width also. That said, a +43mm will likely be inside the fender if its a typical width like 7-8.5"

I have 43mm offset right now. Originally my wheels were 48mm but I bought 5mm H&R spacers so now they are 43mm. pics are on my homepage. BTW I have 18x7.5 on 235 rubber

just curious, does wheel size matter? or is it only width? what about an 8" wide wheel with +40?

The diameter doesnt matter but the width does. Tirerack has a good diagram on their website that describes offset and such.

2 possabilities-

#1 They buy cheap pepboys spacers that are not hubcentric so they cause vibration and other problems

#2 Many feel that they put more stress on the hub bearings since the wheel is further away from the hub which increases the stress but I havent herd of anyone have problems yet.

BTW where are good places to get spacers? any good brands? and can you get a spacer for only 5mm?

like if i get these 43mm rims.. i can get a 5mm spacer like you did and turn em into 38 mm ?

perfect? right?

im in Merced, like 2 hours south from you. I got my spacers from www.optionsauto.com probably around $50 a pair and they come with longer wheel studs that you need to install. not too hard

You said they come in pairs... is that pairs of 2? or pairs of 4? (usually if they are all four the are called sets, but who knows lol)

they come in apair (2 spacers) so you need to order 2 pairs for all four wheels.

If your question means "do I need hubcentric rings if I use spacers?" then the answer is no you dont and they dont come with them

hubcentric rings are a seperate thing that deal with aftermarket wheels. you dont absolutely need them but some recommend them to help prevent vibration ect. I have a friend that doesnt use them with his volks and doesnt have any problems. for me, I dont think I need them but I have them anyways since they came with my wheels.
