Right size tire?

I went to americas tires and im buying 18x8 with 38mm offset...he told me the BIGGEST tire i could get was a 225-40-18....i asked if 235 would fit and he said no cause it will rub...is he wrong? cause i would Prefer to have 235 to prevent from curbing the rims...at least prevent it a lil more...

can i go ahead and change the order to 235 without rubbing?

Got lowering springs? Either way, you should be fine w/ 235s
