Hand Torque my lug nuts

Guys,

I want to retighten my lug nuts using my torque wrench. I think they tightened them too hard at the dealership. Do I need to jack the car up or can I simply loosen them and retighten them while the car is on the ground?

Thanks.

You should just jack up each wheel to re-torque the lugs.

If I were you, I'd loosen the nuts on the ground while tightening them to spec on jackstands.

I don't know how others do it, but I tighten the wheels as much as I can while they're off the ground, and then lower it with the jack until the tires just touch enough to stop the wheel from spinning. Then I torque it down and let the car down all the way. I do removals in pretty much the exact reverse order of this.
