Hankook Tires??

I have an '02 Maxima SE. I've burned through the OEM Bridgestone Potenza's and am looking at new summer/rain tires (I run Pirelli Winter 210's in the winter). I think I've narrowed it doen to 3 tires (that I can afford) - Michelin Pilot A/S, Potenza RE92 and Hankook Ventus H405.

I can get lots of info on the Pilots and Potenza's but not much on the Hankook's. Does any one have any experience with the Hankooks?

From a price point, the Pilots are $250, Potenza's $195 and the Hankook's are $147. All in Canadian dollars.

I'd like to stay with the stock rims, so I'm looking at 225/50R17's and there's not much choice. Any thoughts?

Stoney.

Might also want to consider Falken Ziex 512's. They come in the stock size and have gotten rave reviews from lots of org members. I wouldn't buy the RE92's again -- get the Falkens. Pilots are great tires, but expensive. Don't know what the Hankooks are like.

Can't go wrong w/ Nittos NT 555 or 450 for summer tires.

what performs better in the rain? the Nitto450 or Falken 512? Which performs better on dry pavement? the Nitto 450, or the Falken 512? Which tire looks better on the max? Thanks for your info.

Wait, so you ARE considering the Potenza RE92?

those will be fine for you, the only thing they lack is tread wear and if you burn threw tires then it doesn't mater anyways. and they do make some nice Z rated tires.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into the Falken tires. after reading all sorts of threads and posts, the Falkens sure are highly regarded.

I'll find out the price point in CDN dollars and I let you know.

Not really.. Only becasue that's what was on the car. The RE92's are ok in the dry but are crap in the rain. I have 60,000km on my car (of which the snows have got 20,000), so after only 40,000km on these tires I'm not impressed with the tread life. Mind you, I might drive a little agressive once in a while

Good, because you should NEVER consider the RE92 again.

I can`t get the Hankooks in my size. I`m OK for awhile but I`ll probably replace origionals with Yokohamas AVS ES100.
