For those on 19s

I'm in the market for rims...I think 19s look the best but the rim I want comes in 19x8 or 20x8.5 and there's only about a 150 price difference. The only difference is that the tires on the 20s would be sumitomo while the tires on the 19s are falken (a much better tire IMO). I wish the 19s were 8.5" wide, but my question is should I just get 20s since the price difference is so small or is the ride with 20s a lot worse than the ride with 19s, even though I 'd be on 245/35 tires whether i got the 19s or the 20s. I need help with this decision. Sorry for rambling

19s. The 20s are too big and heavy. What rim is it btw?

I know that they're heavy but since I have a 3.0 i'm not really looking to race people, plus there's only about a 200 difference between the two...Diablo Lionhart is the rim I am seriously considering.

I got 20" Giovanna Attacks with 245/35/20 on my 2003 maxima. If they are chrome ride with the 20's. Stunt on people if you aint racing plus i believe that if you are going to do 19's or 20's you mind as well save up and pay the extra $ and get the 20's. 19's are easy to get, get 20's and shut your city down with the your max.

I appreciate everyone's advice...but slammed95 what do you mean 20's look ridiculous because of the tire choices? I would get 245/35 whether I got 19s or 20s.

I'd go with some 19x8.5s or even 19x9s in the rear. The deep dish look is really hot right now. If I could do it all over again I would have gone wider!!

Nah, actually 245/35/19 is just a tad smaller than OEM's tire diameter. Oh wait, you have the 4th gen and it came with smaller tires.....

So there you have it...Im planning on going with h-techs BTW..I think then if i had 20s the h techs would give the car a nice semi low stance, right? Or at least lower with 20s then stock with the oem 17s.

If you go 19's the ideal tire size would be a 235/35-19. Try to get the Nitto 555. Over the last 4 yrs I've run 235/35-19 by Toyo (sidewall splits when you run a flat), Pirelli P7000 (dry rots), and Nitto 555's (no complaints and they last forever).

If you go 20's go with the Nitto 225/35-20. No one else makes this size. They are $180 shipped from Tires.com. This is the correct size for the Max. No 4X4 look when you go this route. There is barely a sidewall but it looks damn good. A lot of people go with 245 or 255/35 on 20's. I think it looks funny. Plus the overall tire height increases 1.3" when comparing 235/35-19 and 245/35-20. 225/35-20 is about .2" higher than 235/35-19.

$180 shipped? That's cheap. I would do that but I want a bigger sidewall to help protect from bumps and stuff so I want 245/35/20, where can I get that tire the cheapest?

Ive got 19's on mine. The ride isnt quite stock, but it is def. better than rollin 20's. I went with 255/45/19 Khumos. It handles like a dream. Heres my link: www.cardomain.com/id/kappsmax

Lets put it this way. Its all a matter of what you want to do. The wieght difference in the 19 or 20 inch wheel are the same depending on which wheel you choose. My choice would be a 19x8.5 wheel, with a lip and a 38mm offset.
