What do you think of these rims on a black 99 SE-L?

OK, after spending days looking for wheels which look good, sporty, and are relatively cheap, here is what I found:

Now, I know this poll is somewhat ambiguous, but if you vote, be courteous enough to leave feedback. I will be straightforward here - I ONLY like black, graphite, gun-metal and overall dark, sporty wheels and I much dislike any chrome wheels whatsoever, so don't take offense.

In addition, I will ONLY buy wheels with what I like to call a "lip", a big "lip". This lip is preferably polished like in the image above.

Lastly, I ONLY consider either 6 or 7 spoke wheels. I would never go for 5-spoke because I feel that's too few and anything over 7 is too many. Just my personal preference.

In the end, if you like the design of the wheel, vote for them, although you may not like the color.

P.S. more info about the wheels can be found here: http://www.htawheels.com/product_inf...e0b54b64d816e8

I think they are sweet lookin' but why even ask if your mind is made up and you already know exactly what you like/dislike. Even though I have chrome 17's I basically agree with you all the way around.

The 99 5spoke are 19.5 each. The ones you're showing are probably in that range but probably more. Sorry to tell you Mac but I'm not feeling them, the look nice but the 3 bolts on each spoke really ruins the wheel. I don't dig the polished lip either but I know you like it so maybe get some rims that look like those but without the bolts. It looks like they're 2 piece cause of the screws but I doubt they are 2 piece.

I dunno, I like the bolts - makes it look very aggressive and sporty.

I'm debating between the ones above from SR Racing or ones by Motegi Racing below, also with a big, shiny lip :

I'm left with a big hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

between those 2 wheels, i would go for the motegi's...although i would just save up for a couple months and get some real 6-7 spoke wheels like volk te-37's or gt-7's. Hell, the R1 gt-7's look exactly like the volks...just my .02

plus they're prolly 10 times as strong since they're forged...a good thing for the pot hole infested streets of chicago (i've been twice)...and are actually pretty light too.

If you're not short on cash, get some HRE's. They will paint the rim any color you want (any color code) and you will have good 3piece forged wheels along wtih a nice polished lip.

Those Mogegi rims look good, and they fit your criteria. I know that a lot of people have bashed Motegi in the past, but my wife has their gunmetal MR-7 on her Celica, and the fit and finish on them is defiantely better than I expected in that price range. Her paint/finish has held up without a scratch for almost 2 years, and they still polish up well after a wash.

Depending on the price of that particular design, I say go for it. I generally like light wheels on dark cars and dark wheels on light cars (except for black, red, and white cars). Black on black looks really good with the right ride height and a little tint.

How much do the Motegi's weigh?
That has to be a major consideration.
At least with the Volks, you know they will be light, because they are forged. Yeah, they will be stronger, but lighter is of more concern to me. (makes you go faster...he he)

they are 18 x 7.5 and weigh around 24lbs, which is kind of heavy. price is about $700 off ebay w/o tires.
