I finally got some new shoes for the 'ol Max. I went with the Bridgestone Potenza 215/60R15 on the factory sawblades. I must say, these new shoes are awesome! Cornering has improved ten-fold and traction is enough for me not to spin wheels when racing around town. I can't wait till I can afford larger wheels to feel the Max at its best in the corners.
Are SE tires truely this size on all Max's? My door has the 205/65R15 marked on it and I was sold this Maxima as an SE. Something's fishy...

Yeah, what kind of Potenzas are they? There's plenty of difference between, for instance, RE-92s and S-03s.

I believe the 1995/1996 Maxima SE's have 205/65/15 size tire as the 1997-1999 SEs have 215/55/16s. And yeah , there are lots of Potenzas, the OEM Potenzas that come on the 2002 Maximas are horrible where as the S02 Potenza that comes stock on the S2000 is an awesome tire.

Actually the 95-96 SE stock tire is 215/60/15 the GLE and GXE had the 205/65/15

that's crazy 95 Max, I was a little curious why my car has the GXE/GLE tire size recommendation when I really think I have a an SE. Oh, by the way, the Potenzas I have are G009s. I am truely partial to these, although they may not be the top of the line tires, they have greatly improved many aspects to my car. I love 'em!

The G009 is the new all season high performance tire that will eventually replace the 950 and 750. I personally don't like the look of the tread. I am on my second pair of 950 and just love them.

I also use the RE950 on my car and they are fabulous on wet pavement and great in the dry. I've got about 25K miles on them with about 50% tread left, and I drive aggressively.

I would say the thing that surprised me the most about these tires is just how amazing they grip in wet conditions. It's like the roads are still dry! No tire squeal either. The extra wide tire wall thickness is also nice for protecting your rims against curb rash.

I highly recommend them.

I couldn't agree more. I got the RE950s put on a few months ago and they are amazing. I'm glad to hear they're lasting you so long.

I had the RE950s before. I'm using the Falken Ziex tires now. Both are about the same as far as dry/wet traction. However, I run these at the track too. I found out the RE950s seem to do better at the track. For example, I would get 2.2s 60' on the RE950s. I'm just getting 2.3s 60' with the Falken. I had the RE950s on when I tested the car out when I still had the SC. Allowed me to get 2.1s 60' with them. Someone told me all street tires are the same as far as the track is concern. I disagree from my experience.

As much as I love my RE950's I still cannot pull any better 60' foots with them as I did on my off brand tires, all season, salvaged tires (the "worst" possible tires ever).
