Yeah I know this is prob for the wheels and tires forum but I thought i'd ask while i am here.

Are the 2k3 17's alot heavier than my stock 97 se wheels?

about 19.6lbs. for se wheels.

2k3 SE wheels are about 6 lb's heavier.

I weighed mine at 21lbs with tires a month ago.

so I shouldnt loose much hp then right?

You need a new scale buddy, sounds like that one needs be trashed.

you don't lose hp your just carrying more weight which means you make your car slower

with 6 extra lbs for each wheel, that is like having 240 extra lbs of passenger in your vehicle with you.
Do you know how much a 240lb guy weighs down your car? A lot. My brother weighs that much, and it feels like you cannot even pull hard.

Why 240 extra i would think that 6 pound extra for each wheel is 24 pounds or am i missing something

HOLY COW!!!!!! I was wayyyyyy off on that one! New weight is now 40lbs with tires, but don't take my word for it, we know how the first time went....

I'd guess the tires alone weigh more than 21 pounds each....

So with a bone stock se (currently) am I looking at a big preformace decrease

if each wheel weighs 6 lbs more its 6*4=24 then *7=168lbs more. That will make you .16 slower in quarter mile.

why ru multiplying by 7?

Thats the formula for transfering rotational weights into normal weight.

I think rotational mass only affects acceleration and deceleration, so when you're crusing at a constant speed on the highway it's not going to change your gas mileage.

Agreed, because of momentum, but spinning those suckers up sucks and that's why its going to hurt his drag/racing times.
