All the brands I want are off size. Anyone use something else besides the 245-45-18 and have pics to post. I want to use yokohama 255-45-18 AVS DB2.
ANy help would be appreciated.

Make sure it will not rub against the wall or ask the tire man if you want to use 255-45-18. Also, your rim's width is only 7.5 (small).

I recently put Yokohama's on my OEM's and asked if I could go bigger. The tire guys said that on those OEM rims you are pretty much at the end of the recommended width spectrum. BTW - I love the yokos

I don't know if the 255 tire will fit on the 7.5" rim but I know that a 255 tire width will not rub.

New tires already? How many miles do you have? Are the stock tires that bad?

I did not rotate my tires the last 7500 miles and now it is 12k miles since last rotation. Front tires are worn almost to the indicator but still have some good tread left but they hydroplane like crazy. I could of got about 40-45k miles if I rotated them correctly but I didnt. I attribute the high dound DB to the harse tires. I am hoping a better softer tire will cut down on the interior noise. You can go to the tirerack.com and see the ratings and reviews of the RS-A's. I have never been a fan of goodyear and alot of people do not like the RS-A's as well.

On the inside of my OEM rims there is an 8 stamped. This 8 is on every one of the splays. I thought that meant 8 inch?

RaTgoesMax - Unless Nissan changed the OEM recently, the SE comes with 7.5" wide 18" wheels, and the SL comes with 7.0" wide 17" wheels.

Maybe the '8' on your wheels is just an indicator to show these are 18" wheels. Or maybe they were made on shift #8. Or maybe they were made on machine #8. Or maybe they were inspected by inspector #8. Or maybe they were made last August (8th month). Or maybe these are Nissan style #8. Or maybe I have not the slightest idea what that '8' means . . . bingo!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

As info, I rotate faithfully, but don't expect high mileage from low profile tires. My experience over the years has been sort of:

84 profile - 64K
80 profile - 60K
75 profile - 55K
70 profile - 50K
65 profile - 45K
60 profile - 40K
55 profile - 35K

I would expect to get around 30K from 45 profile tires, and around 25K from 40 profile tires. There are wide variations depending on driver and road conditions.

One of the reasons I get less mileage on lower profile tires is because they are wider, making hydroplaning more of a problem, meaning I can't safely run the tread quite as thin as on a narrower tire.

Come to think of it, I may be the only one here that drove over 100 MPH on 84 profile tires (around 1950).

Well i got my yokohamas from the tire rack for 750.00 shipped. I went with the avs dbs2 z rated 255-45-18. Rating 320AA which is better than the GS-A at 260AA. Tires fit with no problem at all no rubbing. They stick like glue and I love them. They also really seem to fill in the gaps in the wheel well. I will post pics later.

I know its been 2 years since your post. Do you have pics of your 255 wide tire setup on OEM rims?

Thx in advance...

Help me understand as tire sizes are not my forte...

You say less miles on a low profile tire...I have 55's on my car (and I don't consider those low profile) so I'm trying to compare....

What would an 80 profile tire come on? Bigfoot?
