Clarify tire sizing according to rim width

OK I have 18 x 7.5 inch rims. I want the to put 245/40-18 or 235/40-18 size tires on. But most of the tires that i am interest in seem to be only for rim sizes 8 inches and up when I look at the specs. eg. Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S, Falken Ziex Se 512, Hankook Ventus HRII H405 and TOYO Proxes 4. Can any please clarify if running such a tire rated for an 8 inch rim is dangerous on a 7.5 inch rim? Seems like I have to run 225/45-18 in order to get the tire within spec

235 should be fine with those 7.5 rim widths. I have 255s on a 8" wide rim
