2k2-2k3 se rims

I know I should just do my own research but I can't seeing as I am at work. I have a 98 se and bought some 2k3 se rims off of my friend. The tires are bald and need to be replaced. What size tire do I need to get? From what I saw before I left my house, I think I need 215/50/17. Please let me know.

thanks

235/45/17, that is what I would get. Stock 225/50/17 would look too fat

I just checked tirerack and they say for 17x7 with a +38 offset should be 235/45/17 and for 17x7 with a +40 offset should be 215/50/17. I thought they always said 235/45 was too wide for these rims? What's the offset of the rims?

but you have a 2k2. I have a 98 se. I thought my tires shouldn't be as wide as yours, hence the 215 instead of 225.

If you're talking about putting tires on the 2003 wheels, go by the wheel demensions, not what year your car is. The wheels are 17x7 so the recommended tire size for those is 225/50/17.

235/45/17 you will have a LOT more choices to chose from. Speedo will only be off by a little bit.
