!! HELP me pick my NEW rims !! (Mods please don't delete)
Mods: This thread is specifically to get help from 5th gen owners, to find rims that will look good and fit well on Glacier Pearl 2K2
A deposit has been sent for my current rims. That gives me a very short time to find some new rims to replace them. So let's hear your thoughts on the rims I've found, and also for some new ideas I haven't come across. Your help is appreciated!!
My current rims (Axis Se7en Mod 19x8 35mm)
My criteria:
Sizes
-Must be 19" diameter
-Between 8-9" wide
-Offset may vary, but probably needs to be 30-42mm
Brands
-No crap like ADR, Konig, Katana, Speedy, Tenzo, Exel, RSLimited, etc...
-No super fantasy rims like HRE's, iForged, etc...
-Silver, Hyperblack, Hypersilver, Gunmetal, or Gloss Black finishes for the center
Preferences
-Would prefer something with somewhat of a polished lip/dish but not a requirement
-Lighter is better, but I'm not too concerned with weight.

I like both Enkei wheels you've chosen here and I really like the look of the Axis Hiro wheel as well. Probably didn't help too much, but those are my choices. This is just my opinion, but I just can't justify $600+ per wheel.

Size specs must fall within what I stated.
Price can range a bit within the upper/lower end like I've shown above.
Please comment on what I've chosen so far, and I'm also really hoping for more new ideas too. Time is an issue, because I need to make my purchase within the next week!!

Nathan: I'm glad you rsponded! Afaik you're the only 5th gen w/the Hiro so far, and I was having trouble finding your pics. And on Glacier Pearl, so it's even better!
I do love that rim in anthracite but the style is kinda plain since it has no rivets and no lip.
Have you and/or other peeps ever thought they're smaller than they really are? Like 18's or 17's...?

If you click on the link in the 1st post, you can see how my current rims (Axis Se7en Mod in silver) look. I liked this style because it's an Axis original...just dont' know how the black would look on my Glacier Pearl. The Hiro is an Advan TCII knockoff. The Milano is a Maya DTS knockoff.
O.Z. Superleggerra III's are cool, but too expensive. The normal version looks ok too, but I don't like it that much...

Damn, if you could afford Maya STM's, might as well contact IForged to custom make you a perfecT set of wheels for your car. They can make you 19x8 all the way around with a staggered look rear lip in any of their 2 peice models. i was quoted $2200 for set of 4, no-rivets, center-caps, black center w/ polished lip. but if your limited to just those sets, i would go Maya STM for upper and Axis Milano for lower, but i was suppose to get milano's but they are backordered like a mother right now, thats y i got Supermesh!

Axis milano's were out before Maya DTS...but they are lowenhart knockoffs and from what i heard, the Hiro's are volk gram light 57f or volk SF-Challenge knockoffs. you may already know this, but with the maxima's offsets, if you get maya, volk, etc...any of those expensive brands, your limited to a very small lip, if that matters to you. Axis is the only way people with 35+ offsets can get a 3.5" lip! hehehe

Here are various pics of my 19x8.5" front/rear Hiro's. It looks like all the pics Axis took of their Hiro's were of the 9.5" wheel because of the huge lip. As you can see my lip isn't as big.
If your stuck between the Milano's and the Hiro's, check to see how much the Milano's weigh. The Hiro's in 19x8.5" only weigh 24 lbs.

The Hiro's look great in pics, but I don't think it would fit the look I'm going for. They're a little plain and too much of the "tuner" look. At 24lbs. they're not heavy, about the same as my Se7en Mods, but not really lightweight either. Those Enkei's are lighter than ****!
At this moment I do really like the Milano, I just gotta see if it's still on backorder. I'm also still diggin' the Mods in GlossBlack, but would it be retarded to sell my rims and get the same ones again (just diff color)?

H&R spacers, which quite a few members use, can give you any offset you need.
Problem is the max has a narrower track in the back and you cant equal that out without spacers regardless.
To me wheels are a great place to shed weight, and it is rotational weight no less.
Ive had Volks in the past and I gotta say my centerlines are just as good.

Hamy: you've got PM
Mick Max: I definitely appreciate your effort. Centerlines are really cool, just the problems with offset and width. I won't go thinner than 8" Also, I won't get spacers that require new studs.
Volks are way expensive in 19", and not that many choices. I'm not a fan of RoJa wheels (aka forged Motegis). I'm pretty picky I guess. Among the local Maxima crew, I'm known as the "wheel snob"

i think those gt3's shat on any rims right now. this guy i know has a set of the regular silver 19"s on his silver gs430 and it looks hot. get the satin for the max, that dish looks so sexy

I agree with Kloogy a 100% on the Enkei RPF1. Not a bad price and lightweight for a 19"

HaHa I did not mean to hammer my point home relentlessly. Just that it can pay off to check out all the options.
