n00b questions

what is the weight of the 2k2 stock wheel? what would be a good (lighter) replacement that looks fairly nice and not terribly expensive ($1000 budget)?
i dont want anything above stock 17", cause it will just slow down the car cause of more rotational inertia. however i wouldnt mind something that is maybe 235 or 245/40?

since my car is not lowered, id prefer to stay away from that rice look where the tire has a very small wall (30 or 35 series), so you can see half a foot distance between the chasis and top of the wheel. maybe im asking too much...considering the car isnt lowered

pretty much anything is gonna be lighter than the stock wheels, i believe its something liek 47 pounds per wheel with tire. is 1000 dollars with or without tires, if without you have tons of option for 17s, if not then you just need to shop around for deals (try wheelmax)

I just recently got a new set of wheels on my 02 Max GLE.
See my other post in here.

I weighed my stock GLE wheel and it came in at 24.5 pounds on the digital scale.
My new wheels weigh 18.5 pounds each.

I believe the stock tires weigh about 23-24 pounds each as well.

Go to your local Discount Tire or America's Tire Store (same company) if you have a local one, and you'll find a whole bunch of choices that fit the Maxima.
They have wheels for less than $100 each. But I wouldn't recommend those. They'll mount your stock tires to the wheels at no extra cost. Good people.

You can also look at their website.
There's also Tirerack.com
but they're a bit pricey, you have to pay for shipment, and then wait to get them, then take the wheels to a tire store and pay them to mount.

And you will notice a performance difference with the lighter wheels. My car snaps off the line a lot quicker now.
