Too Much Tire???

I was getting some prices on tires for some 19x8.5 rims. I told him that I wanted 235/35 and he told me that would be to much tire b/c I am lowered w/sprints and that I should get 225/35.
I have been reading the tire section and seen people with 245/35 on 19's. Is that guy full of BS or is he right.
The recommended tire size that tire rack says is 235/35 should I go with that or should I go with something wider?

You have to understand it all depends on how low you plan to go. if its no lower than 1.3f and 1.0r, then the 235/35/19 will be ok. If you will take it lower than that, I would listen to the guy and go with the 225/40/19's or 225/35/19's. Unless you plan to add a camber kit and toe the front and read tires a bit to minimize the rubbing effect.

I am already lowered with Sprints which are about 2in. all around.
I have 225/40/18 on right now with no problem.

I'm lowered on Tein S. Techs and I have a 245/35/19F and 275/30/19 back...dont let anyone tell you to go with a 225. I'm just about as low as you can go with 19s for a daily driver and I never rub.

When I was referring to people running 245 I was pretty much referring to you. I really want at least 235 b/c of the ride but would 245 make a better ride?
Don't know if it makes a difference but I have 4th gen.

I've had a 235/35 and a 245/35. The only difference is the 245 looks better because its wider. A 225/40 will look dumb because its too skinny. You can't tell a difference in the ride either way.

BTW, the sprints aren't too low!
That is probably what I will go with then. The 245 isn't to wide for a 8.5 rim? Just making sure.

Thats what I was saying when I stated to him not to go wide unless he plans to get a camber kit installed if he goes with a progressive drop. But speaking of drops, your ride is sweet. Thats a mean set up you have there. Do you have any trouble with the wider tires in the rear versus the front?

Why would I need a camber kit if I got 245? I just don't understand what the difference is if I am already lowered running 225/40/18 with no problem. What would 245's do to my camber?

If your running on 225's now with a drop thats good. If you decide to go up a size on the wheel and get a wider tire, it could rub into the fender on front and rear unless its cleared with a more aggressive toeing.
